Flaming Gorge

Last weekend we went to Flaming Gorge with some friends and family. We had 10 adults, 2 babies, and 6 dogs! Boy was it an adventure!! Our campsite was beautiful with great scenery.

We attempted to swim in the freezing water. We didn't last very long........

Aaron and Margot made the long trip from Denver!

Uncle Bodes and Aunt Jamie made an even longer trip from LA and brought with them some cute LA Dodger shirts for the boys.

Here we are the first morning after our Friday night rainstorm! Can you tell how I slept?

Landon and John on their first camping excursion! (I am not sure how quickly the Mama's will want to go back. It was a lot harder than I thought to have an 8 month old to pack around. )

After our weekend of fun we were all "doggone" tired!

8 months old and crawling!

So, as usual, this post is a little late. Landon turned 8 months old on the 16th. He is getting to be so big! Here is a list of "new" things he does:
** Crawling!! He started the army crawl at 7 months, but has since perfected that technique.
**says Mama and Dada
**claps
**pulls himself up onto the furniture (we had to lower his mattress last weekend--I walked into his room and he was standing in his crib. I got a little freaked out because he could have flipped over the railing easily!!)
**loves to eat crackers and anything else Mommy and Daddy are eating. He refuses to eat anything "mushy" aka baby food from a spoon now. : (
**Melts my heart on a daily basis! : ) (This isn't new, but just increases everyday)
**Loves! Loves! his Johnny jumper. He likes it even better when he knows someone is paying attention to him......he will jump higher and higher when you cheer him on!
**Loves to play with Macie--by play I mean pull her hair, tug on her ears, climb over top of her, etc. The cute thing is that Macie just lays there and takes it like a champ!
**He has 4 bottom teeth and 2 upper "vampire" teeth. I am not sure why the top middle ones didn't come in first.

Everyday we feel so blessed to have this little man in our lives! Landon, we love you!! : )

Fun with Lizzy and Molly!!

Landon and I headed to Austin the end of May to be with my friend Liz just in case she went into labor. She has been on bed rest for several weeks, and was finally able to move around the week we arrived. Her hubby was heading to another city to start an internship so she needed some help with her little cutie, Molly, just in case baby arrived.....which he didn't!! I was hoping he would come on Friday so I would have a chance to meet him before going home. I guess I am glad he was able to "cook" a little longer and gain more weight!! I know Lizzy wanted a chubby baby! We had a lot of fun. I am amazed how much energy a 2 yr old can take out of you. : ) Molly is such a doll! David and I loved to play with her when they lived in Bountiful. She is such a big girl now......and so cute!

There were so many wonderful parks in Austin. I loved it!! Everything was so green.....I just had to get used to the humidity.

Here we are on a train at this fun little park (actually it was quite large). Molly just loved it. You can tell by her content little smile! BTW-isn't Liz just the cutest pregnant Mama?!

We went to the pool several times during the week. I was working on getting a little color to my pasty body.....but there is no such thing as laying out with a baby!! That's ok, we had so much fun anyways. I guess that way I won't get any more freckles!! : )

Our plane ride home was a little more eventful than our flight out there. Sterling dropped us off at the Austin airport nice and early. We arrived a little after 5:00 am, and our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:30. I thought we would have PLENTY of time, but boy was I wrong! When I stepped inside I realized I was in for a disaster. Delta was one chaotic mess. They had two separate lines- 1 to check in, and another to check your bags. I checked in right away, but the baggage part was ridiculous!! There was only 1 person checking bags for several different flights all scheduled to leave around the same time. I just stood there and watched the time tick by. The line didn't budge. I finally got to the desk a little before 7. Yep, that's right! My flight had already left. Luckily they were able to get me on a plane at 7:30 heading to MINNESOTA!!! Oh my, it was going to be a long day. We arrived in Minnesota on time, and luckily they gave me first class seats which was such a blessing with a squirmy baby. I didn't have much time to make my connecting flight to SLC so Landon and I were booking it through that massive airport. After taking a tram to our terminal (of course it couldn't be close by) we arrived just in time to board. Half way through the boarding process the little worker says that the brakes are leaking so they are going to stop boarding, and we won't take off for another 45 min. Wow.... So eventually 1 1/2 hrs later we hop on our flight and make it to SLC. As we landed and pulled up to the gate everyone jumped up and was trying to make their connecting flights because we were so late. All of a sudden the captain comes over the PA stating they missed the "mark" by 6-8 inches so they were going to have to back the plane up! RIDICULOUS!! I was so tired and ready to get off that freaking plane!! So, we had to wait for everyone to be seated and have the overhead baggage compartments closed. Once we did that the captain gets on the PA again and says, "oh nevermind, it looks like we can connect after all." Don't worry, my trauma day doesn't end there. David met us at the baggage claim and we were so excited to see him!! We had never been apart that long, and David was definitely missing his little boy. Well, we pick up my bag and start heading towards the car. Out of the blue David says "Oh Crap!!" I look at him with a concerned look and realize what HE just realized.....he left the carseat at home...in Roy....an hour away! I lost it. Poor Dave. Sorry babe! To make this too long of story shorter, Ben (step-bro) saved us and brought their baby's carseat. I made it home and fell fast asleep!! End of story! Wait...I hate Delta...end of story! : )

Taylor Swift --- Fearless!

Cindy and I went to Taylor Swift's "Fearless" concert on May 26th. We had a blast!

We had so much fun despite a few negative points: 1) Kelly Pickler was supposed to open for Taylor, but came down with an illness (I was just as excited to see her as Taylor, so I was a little upset)! 2) We had nosebleed seats 3) A little girl behind us could have killed a horse with the smell of her nasty feet! Every time she would take her shoes off Cindy and I would lean forward to catch some fresh air. Her mom kept yelling at her to put her shoes back on! AMEN!!

The little blonde girl behind Cindy is the one with the rotting flesh!

Taylor Swift put on an amazing show and now I love her even more than I did before!!
